August 15, 2006 – The Tour de Port au Port is an annual 97km road cycling race around the French, Port au Port Peninsula on the island’s West Coast. This Tour attracts many competitive racers as well as more recreational riders of all abilities.

When: Saturday, Aug. 19th
– Pre Register, 11am Start
– Awards and celebration starting 5:30pm
– Group fun ride the following morning

This year’s Tour de Port au Port will be Newfoundland and Labrador’s Provincial Championships, and will include the awarding of Canadian National Ranking points.

The course is a loop, following the coast and passing through many of its small communities, which are hugely supportive. Along the course there are a couple of challenging hills and beautiful coastal scenery. There will be awards and a celebration to follow that evening, as well as a relaxed group ride the next morning.

There will be a Cash Prize for the top 3 male and females, and
prizes for:
– Fastest mom
– Fastest dad
– Fastest first time
– Most improved
– Most spirited

August 15, 2005 – The Tour de Port au Port is the biggest road race in Newfoundland and Labrador.

This two day event is being held on August 20th and 21st just west of Stephenville, NL on the Port au Port peninsula. There is a time trial on the 20th and a 97km road race on the 21st.
