September 12, 2007 — At the second half of Stage 2 today, Val les Bains to Cruas, 96.2km, Alex Wrubleski finished 8th and is still in 3rd place in the GC. Brooke Miller from USA won the race and the US team did a good job to keep everything together and worked well to set up the final sprint.

All of the others Canadian riders finished in the main field except Moriah Jo McGregor who had a difficult day finishing 23:15 behind. Also Julie Beveridge, a first year junior, had a really bad crash on the descent of the last col. She will have a souvenir from Ardeche with five stiches on her elbow. She will be able to start tomorrow.

Wrubleski is still leading the young jersey classification. Leigh Hobson scored second in the final GPM (1st category) and is now sitting in 4th place in the mountain classification.
