Tour de France Stage 7 – Ryder Hesjedal Update

release by Slipstream Sports
July 08, 2011 – Ryder Hesjedal was involved in large crash at 35km to go in the stage, along with teammate Tyler Farrar.  Though Ryder went down hard, after a bike change he was able to get back on and finished in the second group, 3:06 behind the leaders. Farrar finished in the same group. Teammate Thor Hushovd (NOR) finished 7th and retained the yellow jersey.

“Unfortunately, I got caught up in the big crash today along with Tyler. I got taken down from behind and I fared well considering, but its never fun to go down. I’ll see how I feel tomorrow and of course will keep racing as hard as I possibly can for my team. Despite the crash the team rode great and we retained the yellow jersey for Thor, and Tyler and I finished in the second group. Tomorrow is a new day, but I hope everyone involved in the crash is ok,” said Hesjedal.
