June 13, 2005 – Celebrating it’s 20th anniversary the 2005 Tour de Beauce Bell will once again have a distinctive Canadian flavour as no less than 43 Canadian riders spread over eight teams, will line up to do battle against an international field.

Leading the talent will be fomer U. S Pro winner Mark Walters of the Navigators, as well as Bruno Langlois of the U.S based Jittery Joes. Fielding full teams of Canucks are the VW Trek squad, Yeti-Procycle and Equipe Quebec out of “le belle province”. Symmetrics brings their powerhouse squad from B.C, Team ItalPasta/Belmire from Ontario and of course our own Canadian National Team squad. The National team is a mix of veterans like Dominique Perras, Andrew Randell and Charlse Dionne mixed with new young talent like trackie Zack Bell and mountain biker Max Plaxton.

The international talent is not as dominant as in past years and we will not likely see a combine of Polish talent driving the race all day. Health Net has brought former Beauce winner, John Lieswyn, who just won the Nature Valley GP, and new USPRO champ Chris Wherry but have left behind Canadian fastman Gord Fraser. Navigators will counter with men like Chris Baldwin and Aussie Nathan O’Neil who is known for his toughness.

As for the European teams, most are unheard of, but you can bet they will all make for a fierce 20th anniversary edition of 2005 Tour de Beauce Bell.
