Tom Boonen Suspended by Quick Step Following Positive Cocaine Test

May 9, 2009 – Belgium star Tom Boonen (Quick Step) has been suspended “from all activities” by his team following a positive out-of-competition test for cocaine. The 28-year-old recent winner of Paris-Roubaix for the third time also tested positive for cocaine use in May 2008 and is now a doubtful starter at this year’s Tour de France. Authorities have searched his home and he may face criminal charges.
