T-Town Flash!

August 14, 2007 (Trexlertown Pennsylvania) — Summer racing continued today at the legendary Lehigh Valley Velodrome with an international assortment of sprinters riding the 200m qualifier. Veteran Italian track sprinter Roberto Chiappa set the fastest time with a 10.4 ahead of Australian enfant terrible Mark French and Olympic Champion Ryan Bayley.

Canada’s Travis Smith (Momentum Sports) continues his return to racing form with an impressive sub. 11 second time on the outdoor track. Compatriot Lawrence Leroux rode an 11.0 to place 16th in the qualifying round. Leroux then gained some international experience first hand as he rode off against Bayley in the first round, in what Leroux described as a “great experience!”. Smith also lost his first round ride against Australian rider Daniel Ellis.

The two other Canadians present, Eric Beausejour and Pan Am medalist Yannick Morin failed to qualify for the rounds.
