October 5, 2005 – United Cycle is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Strathcona Grand Prix at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, October 9 at the Strathcona Science Park,10980 – 17 street. Sign on and the Start/Finish line will be adjacent to the parking lot. Spectators will have access to the winding course with excellent vantage points overlooking the river valley.

A superb cyclo-cross venue covering paved, gravel and grass trails through the Strathcona Science Park. The course is highlighted by side hill sections, off camber corners, twisting grass chicanes, stairs, and high speed pavement. Sign on begins at 9:00 a.m. and racing gets underway at 10:00 a.m. Sunday with the sport class and Open Women, Expert men start next on their 45 minute race at 11:15 a.m. and Elite Men/Open finish off the day’s events at 12:30 p.m. with a 60 minute lung-busting effort.

An assortment of hot/cold beverage, bagels, doughnuts, and fruit will be on hand for all participants. All categories will be awarded cash and draw prizes, courtesy of the excellent sponsors of this event.
