release by EKOÏ.com/Gaspesien

August 20, 2012 (St-Basile, QC) – On Sunday, Emile Jean from Trois-Rivieres, won his first victory in Elite Men’s road race at St-Basile. After only 6km of the 133km race Emile escaped from the pack with three other riders to form the winning break.

William Blackburn from Team Medique, Jean-Michel Lachance and Rémi Pelletier-Roy Team Garneau were other riders that escaped. With about 45km  to go, Pelletier-Roy tried to escape the break but this attempt proved costly.

Once Roy was caught Jean launched an attack that nobody could follow. His solo victory is his first this season in the senior category! Blackburn took the second ahead of Charly Vives.
