Smart Savvy_400x400July 16, 2015 (Langley,, BC) – SMARTSAVVY+ p/b IRIS Cycling Team burst onto the Western Canada cycling circuit this year and looks to continue their growth into 2016 with the exciting addition of Giant Langley to their partnership team!

“With the addition of Giant Langley to our corporate partner group for next year, we are going to be able to increase our footprint on the road scene next year and continue to be a squad who hunts down young talent that has fallen through the cracks on their way to chasing their cycling dreams, and nurture them along in their cycling goals to get to the next level,” states Director Sportif Barret Kropf

“We are really excited about the group of partners we have this year who stand with us in helping U23 riders gain exposure at events they may never had a chance to be at. It really helps the second tier of cyclists coming out of junior, and gives the late developing athletes a chance to race amongst the best in the country and develop their skills instead of leaving the sport” Kropf adds

After a decent early summer block of races, second year junior Mason Burtnik has really come into form the past few weeks. Saturday at the Brenco Criterium in Delta BC, as part of the BC SuperWeek Series, Burtnik found himself in great company being the only junior racer left in the field at the finish line. Coming off a strong performance at Junior Nationals in Quebec the week prior, Burtnik was over the moon about getting an invite this week to be a member of the Team Canada squad headed to the Tour l’Abitibi, and then onto the Canada House in Belgium in preparation for selection to World juniors.

“I thought there was an outside chance I would get selected based on my Nationals effort, but having some strong efforts here at SuperWeek has really built my confidence. Im looking forward to the next month as I keep chasing down my goals of being at worlds, “ Burtnik declared after hearing about his invite.

The SMARTSAVVY+ p/b IRIS Cycling Team based out of Langley, B.C. has several more weeks left to their season as they head into the BC Superweek, followed by appearances at the Cascades event in Oregon and then wrapping up their year in Calgary at the Tour De Bowness.
