Ryan Anderson Crashes Out at 3 Days of De Panne – Will Miss Tour of Flanders

March 30, 2017 (Koksijde, Belgium) – Canadian rider Ryan Anderson (Direct Energie) has crashed out of the Three Days of de Penne stage race currently being disputed in Belgium according to a tweet from his team.

Anderson fractured his scapula and will be out for four weeks – consequently he will not be on the start line of the 101st edition of the Tour of Flanders this Sunday in Antwerp, Belgium. The Tour of Flanders is a one day classic and usually considered the pinnacle of the Flemish Cycling Week.

Anderson, 29, is an all rounder who turned pro in 2008; he finished second the Poly Normande race in France in 2016 and twice captured the red jersey for Best Canuck at the Tour of Alberta.

He has ridden for such teams as: Kelly Benefit Strategies (2009–2010); SpiderTech–C10 (2011–2012); Champion System (2013); Optum–Kelly Benefit Strategies (2014-15), and Direct Energie (2016, 2017).
