RWR/ Peak Winter Series – Stage 8

February 9, 2006 – Warren MacDonald was the big winner of Stage 8 by posting a commanding time of 39:59.2 . Second place on the stage went to Sean Wakefield with a time of 41:22.6. While these two riders distanced themselves from the field, the fight for third place on the stage was hotly contested between Ottawa’s Robert Orange and Vancouver’s Brian Griffen who were both vying for their first podiums of the series. In the end, Robert Orange took third place by only 2 seconds .

Cynthia Clark continued to establish her lead in the series with a stage win. Her time of 45:23.1 put her on the podium ahead of Ottawa’s Cathy Bodnoff and Genevieve Pellerine. For further results and stats on the riders, visit the series website at www.ridwithrendall.com

The Ride with Rendall Winter Series continues with stage 9 this upcoming weekend. Rumors are circulating that the climbers will be back challenging for the win as the stage takes an upward turn after this weeks stage that was characterized by relatively shallow climbs.Time will tell if the flatlanders can climb.

RWR/ Peak Winter Series – Stage 8

February 2, 2005 – Stage 8 results from the RWR/ Peak Winter Series are now posted on the Ride with Rendall website. www.ridewithrendall.com

Riders faced false flats and series of short steep climbs on a course comprised of two loops of a virtual circuit. Sean Wakefield from Ride with Rendall finished first in the men’s category with a time of 37:08.04. Second place was taken by the series mystery rider while third place went to Fraser Atkins of Fresh Air Experience.

Natasha Elliott from Cycle Logik Racing posted a time of 39:24.6 to once again win the women’s division over Cynthia Clarke . Both riders had times which were competitive in the overall results.

The next race will be held this coming Sunday February 6th at the Peak Centre for Human Performance. Riders of all abilities are welcome to come out and experience Multi Rider racing on linked computrainers. Mountain bikes (with rear slicks) and road bikes both work equally as well on the trainers so get your bike and come on out. To book your start time call 613-737-PEAK.
