Rona Takes Tuscon

Members of Rona, Canada’s top pro women’s team grabbed all the podium
positions at the Tuscon Bicycle Classic, which concluded April 7 in Arizona.
Quebec’s Genevieve Jeanson won the three-day event, with teammates Melissa
Holt of New Zealand and Gail Longenecker of the United States finishing
second and third, respectively. Rona veteran cycling star, Jeannie Longo of
France, placed fourth.

“I’m very happy with this weekend,” said Rona manager Andre Aubut.
“Genevieve is in great shape, but what’s even more important is that the
whole team performed well.”

Jeanson won the first two stages of the race, which consisted of a
5.2-kilometre time trial and a 101-kilometre road race. She then crossed
the finish line alongside her teammates Holt and Longenecker, who won the
Stage Three final, an eight- lap criterium around a nine-kilometre course.
