June 14, 2011 (Lac-Etchemin, QC) – The 26th edition of the Tour de Beauce, June 14-19, Canada’s only UCI 2.2 stage race, is underway with Scott Lyttle (Nzl) Pure Black Racing taking the 165.2km Stage 1 in Lac-Etchemin over teammate Timothy Gudsell (Nzl) in second with François Parisien (SpiderTech p/b C10) landing on the podium for Canada in 3rd. A 19-strong break had a 14-min lead at one point and with about 6km to go the attacks began with Lyttle taking the first win of the Canada’s most prestigious 6-day race.
