February 6, 2006 – Overcoming is a documentary which tracks Team CSC’s 2004 attack on the famed Tour de France. Don’t mistake this video for just another take on le Tour. It’s not. Overcoming takes a look at the psychology of riders that take part in one of the world’s toughest sports.

Danish filmmaker Tomas Gislason spent 2004 following the CSC Team, including the Tour de France, capturing the joys and sorrows, the triumphs and the disappointments, the dogged pursuit of endurance and the emotional highs and lows of the team members and directeur sportif Bjarne Riis, whose impact on the sport continues significantly after his career as a top cyclist.

The film, aptly titled Overcoming, presents in moving yet excruciating detail the pain and glory that characterize one of the world’s most popular sports.

This film will speak to the Cat 5 rider just as much as it will the seasoned cat 1 rider, as it examines the strength and will power, and subsequent fragility, of Europe’s top roadies.
