Rise Racing Announces New Women’s Squad and Sponsors for 2015

November 13, 2014 (Toronto, Ontario) – Rise Racing (the “Team”), an elite women’s cycling team, is excited to announce it has confirmed title sponsorship with Cyclepath Woodbridge for its inaugural season. In conjunction with Cyclepath Woodbridge’s title sponsorship, Rise Racing is pleased to confirm Wilier Triestina, the well-known Italian based manufacturer of high-performance bicycles, has been named the official bike sponsor of the Team. In addition, Rise Racing has established partnerships with top product companies Giro, Smith Optics, and The Great Gorp Project.

Rise Racing is looking forward to building a long-standing relationship with partners and supporters of women’s cycling. Independently founded by members of its roster, Rise Racing was created to promote the growth of women’s cycling and provide a strong platform for athletes to compete at the top level within North America.

Rise Racing will work with sponsors, industry partners, and the general cycling community to promote equal opportunity in the sport. The founders of Rise Racing are enthusiastic about the growth of cycling in recent years and are optimistic the Team will serve as inspiration for similar initiatives across Canada.

The 2015 season will see the Team compete at the senior elite level with focus on major Canadian events including B.C. Superweek and Canadian National Championships, as well as select Ontario Cup (“O-Cup”), National Racing Calendar (“NRC”), National Criterium Calendar (“NCC”), and Union Cycliste International (“UCI”) races.
Rise Racing has formed a talented roster of seven cyclists which includes some of Canada’s top riders across a variety of disciplines. The 2015 roster includes:

– Ashley Barson – Caledon, ON (Cyclocross, Road)
– Julia Bradley – Toronto, ON (Road, Track)
– Jamie Gilgen – Dundas, ON (Cyclocross, Road, Track)
– Nicole Mitchell – Hamilton, Bermuda (Road)
– Alexandra Morley – Toronto, ON (Cyclocross, Road)
– Genevieve Krahn – Winnipeg, MB (Cyclocross, Road)
– Stephanie Skoreyko – Dundas, ON (Cyclocross, Road)

In addition to targeting top race results, Rise Racing is looking forward to establishing a strong community presence to promote the sport of cycling and the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. Rise Racing will host a variety of community engagement events.
