August 19, 2016 (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) – Canada’s Tory Nyhaug advanced through the Semi Finals with superb riding to make the men’s gold medal final where he ended up 5th as Connor Fields (USA) took the gold.

In the women’s race Mariana Pajon (Colombia), who was unstoppable in all of her heats, won the gold to the delight of the partisan crowd.
