January 15, 2015 – Louis Garneau Sports is proud to announce that the 2014 edition of the Granfondo Garneau-Quebecor presented by Cascades allowed us to raise $90,256 for the Little Brothers foundation. Louis Garneau wishes to thank all its partners, as well as the 3,000 participants who made this possible.

This announcement also launches the 7th edition of the Granfondo Garneau-Quebecor presented by Cascades that will take place on August 9, 2015. Once again this year, the format of the event remains: a 110 km bike ride between Trois-Rivières and St-Augustin-de-Desmaures.

We will give away the bike used by Honorary President Bernard Hinault during the Granfondo, a $7,000 yellow Dura-Ace Garneau Gennix in a drawing among the first 1,500 people to sign up. Register online now here.

An exceptional athlete who marked a whole generation of cyclists, we have the great pleasure of announcing that the legendary Bernard Hinault, 5-time winner of the Tour de France, 3-time winner of the Giro d’Italia and 2-time winner of the Vuelta d’Espana, agreed to be Honorary President of the 7th edition of the Granfondo Garneau-Québecor. He is the last rider to have equaled Jacques Anquetil’s and Eddy Merckx’s performances at the Tour de France.

Even though he is no longer a professional cyclist, Bernard Hinault’s passion for the cycling has never faltered. He held several positions within the Tour de France organization as well as  the French national cycling team.
