Ride to the Next Level – MTB Spring Camps

February 11, 2008 (Toronto, ON) – Riders will take their bikes and bodies to new limits with Sacred Ride’s mountain biking skills camps this spring. Organized and taught by experienced instructors, these camps for both men and women are coming to Southern Ontario in May 2008.

Multi-award winning Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Holidays offers two co-ed camps: a beginner/intermediate camp will be held from May 17-18 at Hardwood Hills (near Barrie )and an advanced camp will be held from May 24-25 at Buckwallow Cycling Centre (near Gravenhurst). Camps include accommodations, meals, and workshops on nutrition, maintenance, and fitness. Each camp costs $280 CAD, with the option to pay a reduced amount without accommodation. 2% of the profit will be donated to the Ontario conservation organization – Earthroots.

Skill camps are for the novice to the thrill-seeker – a ‘must’ for preparing bikers for longer and more challenging rides. “We have many clients in Southern Ontario and we wanted to give them a way to prepare for their trips in BC, Chile, and Peru, but then we found out that there were lots of other people just interested In taking their skills to the next level.” says president Mike Brcic. “

Sacred Rides”š social and environmental responsibility mandate includes a commitment to hiring local guides, sourcing local suppliers, reducing their carbon footprint, and contributing 2% of revenue back into local environmental and development projects. Its non-profit organization, Bikes Without Borders, donates used bikes from North American homes to families and communities in the developing world.
