Richey and van den Ham to Race Cyclocross for Trek Red Truck

September 12, 2014 (Vancouver, BC) – After 20 years supporting one of Canada’s top development road teams, Trek Red Truck Racing (TRT) is excited to extend their support to cyclocross for the 2014/2015 season.

The TRT Racing program is highlighted by Canadian ‘crossers, Michael van den Ham and Craig Richey. The team will attend both the BC and Alberta local series races in addition to UCI races such as ‘Cross Vegas, Gloucester, Providence, The Canadian National Championships, Cycle-Smart International, CXLA, Jingle ‘Cross, and the Deschutes Brewery Cup.

Michael van den Ham, is an up and comer in the cyclocross scene. Last year he won the Canadian U23 National Championships,  took home 7 UCI top-10’s in New England, attended the World Championships for the second consecutive year, and cracked the UCI top-100 rankings for the first time. This year, his first in Elite, he is looking to maintain his UCI-ranking, podium at the Elite National Championships, while finishing his final year of university.

Craig Richey has been a stalwart of the Canadian Cyclocross scene for many years. He is a 3X Canadian Worlds Member, former UCI race winner, and has raced extensively both in North America and Europe. This season, Craig will be looking to earn a podium at Nationals, and pick up UCI points all though out the season.

The cyclocross team will continue to be supported by many of both the teams financial and equipment sponsors from the road season. Craig and Michael will be aboard the new Trek Boone, equipped with kit from Garneau, and eyewear from Oakley. New for the ‘cross season, tire maker Clement Pneumatics will equip the team with their LAS, MXP, and PDX tubulars.

Additionally, both riders will be supported by a number of their personal sponsors. Craig Richey will be aboard Easton wheels and components while Michael will be supported by Revolution Wheelworks, Mavic footwear, TRP brakes, and Crankbrothers pedals.
