December 12, 2016 (Garland, Texas) – Alberta’s Michael van den Ham (Garneau – Easton) was on the podium again – in fact twice – this past weekend. On Saturday’s Day One of the C2 Resolution Cross Cup he finished 3rd behind winner Jamey Driscoll (Raleigh Clement) with Todd Wells (SRAM/TLD/Scott) in second.

A lead group of eight riders including Van den Ham, Driscoll, Wells, and fellow Canuck, Craig Richey (Garneau – Easton), escaped early in the windy and chilly conditions. Driscoll pushed the pace over the last two laps, beating out Wells and Van den Ham by three seconds, with Richey finishing soon after in 7th.

In the women’s race, Courtenay McFadden (American Classic – Zone) took the win ahead of Amanda Miller (Boulder Cycle Sport/YogaGlo) and Sunny Gilbert (Van Dessel Factory Team). The three rode most of the race together before McFadden distanced herself on the final lap, finished with a 35-second advantage over Miller. No Canadians competed.

On Sunday’s Day 2, which marked the final day of racing of the 2016 USA cycling Pro Cyclocross calendar, Van den Ham delivered another podium result finishing 2nd behind winner Wells who marked his first pro cyclocross win of 2016.

Van den Ham tried to chase down Wells over the final lap but crossed the line four seconds behind. Justin Lindine (Apex/NBX/Trek) finished 3rd with Driscoll 4th, as Richey beat out by Allen Krughoff (Boulder Cycle Sport/YogaGlo) for 5th.

The Elite Women’s event saw the same podium as the previous day, with McFadden crossing the line first ahead of Miller  in second with Gilbert third.
