April 24, 2015 (Maple Ridge, BC) – Registration is now open for Local Ride Racing’s Race The Ridge, which will be held May 29 to 31 in the Fraser Valley communities of Abbotsford, Mission, and Maple Ridge. With over twelve years of high-quality racing history on the BC road racing calendar, Local Ride Racing is pleased to announce this year’s events will be part of the prestigious 2015 BC Time Trial, Criterium and Road Race Championships.
The BC Time Trial Championships will be hosted by the Phoenix Velo Cycling club and will utilize an amazing, flat course in Abbotsford, BC. This race takes place on the evening of May 29 with the first rider blasting off at 5:00 p.m.
May 30th with see the BC Road Race Championships return to the beautiful Hatzic Valley in Mission, BC. The challenging 18.5 km circuit has hosted past BC Championships, BC Cups and other major bike races in the past. This course has a little bit of everything, from power flats, to long, rolling climbs, and fast, flowing descents. It will take a strong, savvy rider to win this race and be crowned BC Champ.
The final race of the weekend will see the BC Criterium Championships using the fast and furious Town Core Criterium course in downtown Maple Ridge of traditional Race the Ridge fame. This unique criterium course is a rider favorite, and will be a great spectator venue for the large crowd anticipated for this event.
Along with being the BC Championship races, rider points will also be tracked for the BC Premier Road Series overall standings, which includes full youth categories.
For the first time in years, Race The Ridge will not be run as a stage race, so riders can register for individual races. Registration is open now, with special pricing available until May 13.
