February 07, 2017 – American continental squad Rally Cycling will kick off its 2017 European Campaign with the UCI Vuelta Ciclista a la Region de Murcia ‘Costa Calida’ on February 11. Rally will then travel to Portugal where they will race two stage races later this month; the UCI 2.HC 43rd Volta ao Algarve em Bicicleta and the UCI 2.1 Volta ao Alentejo.

Canadians Rob Britton, Matteo Dal-Cin and Adam De Vos are set to contest the hilly ‘Costa Calida,’ now in its 37th year. They will be joined by Americans Evan Huffman, Colin Joyce, Sepp Kuss and Danny Pate.

Previous winners of the ‘Costa Calida’ include Philippe Gilbert, Alejandro Valverde, Daniel Navarro and Nairo Quintana. Four time winner Valverde is back this year with his Movistar Team, as is Daniel Navarro of Cofidis Solutions Credits.

The 182.7km route will take riders from San Javier to Murcia over three major climbs. The category 1 Alto Collado Bermejo is situated in the middle of the course, and should make for an interesting dynamic in the closing kilometers.

Rally lines up beside a total of 19 teams, including six WorldTour squads. Look for Rally’s climbing stars Huffman and Kuss when the road turns up.
