Queens Park Grand Prix Update – Sept. 19

release by the OCA

August 20, 2010 (Toronto, ON) – The Queen’s Park Grand Prix is a month away and is shaping up to be an exciting event both for racers and spectators. This event, to be held on September 19th and back from a long hiatus, will help raise funds and the profile of Trails Youth Initiatives (www.trails.ca). Here are a few updates for racers, exhibitors and VIPs.

Masters Race – Registration will be through the Ontario Cycling Association site and will be open in a week’s time. A technical guide for racers will be available at the same time, subject to change/be updated according to finalization of the course. Racers and teams who are planning to race should also send a short bio of racers and the team to the Race Director (rd@queensparkgp.com). This information will be used as speaking material during the race.

Elite Women’s Race and PRO-AM Men’s Race – Final selections for these racers will be made by September 1st, but teams that have submitted information/applications should place this race in their schedule. It is vitally important that the race application is completed in full and submitted as soon as possible. The technical guide for these races is coming shortly.

Vendors/Expo – An exciting line-up of vendors is already set but there is still a little more room for those interested. Cycling clubs who are interested in exhibiting may also attend, though this is not space for team warm-up; all athletes will have a dedicated area for race prepartion Details here.:

VIP – A limited number of tickets are on sale for VIPs. Mix with the racers the evening before the race, and secure access to exclusive VIP benefits. Details here – tickets available from Hello Velo in person or over the phone (416) 901-3999.
