Quebec City Lobbies for 2008 Road Nationals

July 10, 2006 – The dust has barely settled from the 2006 Tim Hortons Canadian Road National Championships held in Quebec City, June 29-July 2, but local promoters there are already vying to host the 2008 Road Nationals. As reported in the Journal de Quebec, Podium Quebec, an event management firm, who lobbied to secure the 2006 Canadian road championships, is now trying to convince the Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) that the event should return in 2008. That will be a special year for Quebec City which will celebrate its 400th birthday, as Samuel de Champlain founded the city in 1608.
