Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series #6 Heads to Milton This Weekend

August 02, 2011 (Milton, ON) – Plastiglas Ontario Cup XC #6 will take place this Sunday, August 7th at Kelso Conservation Area near Milton, ON.  Over 500 riders are excepted at this weekend’s event.

A true Ontario mountain bike classic, Kelso Conservation area is ready to host the last test for riders before Ontario MTB Championships in September.  In addition to one lung-busting climb up the scenic ski hill service road, riders can expect sweet singletrack, and just enough doubletrack to give ample space to pass. For 2011, there is a brand new singletrack that takes riders up the hill from midway on the Escarpment.

“The Niagara Escarpment offers a very unique riding experience, as there is the right mix of limestone outcroppings, and smooth flowy sections. Plus, Kelso boasts some of the best vistas of any riding destination in Ontario” says Sean Ruppel, Course Designer.

Also of note for this weekend, two recently crowned National Champions will be racing. 3 Rox Racing Team members Mikaela “Fudge” Kofman, 2011 Women’s U23 National Champ will be racing Elite Women, and Junior Expert National Champion Marc-Antoine Nadon will be looking to take the top step of the podium come Sunday.

Pre-registration will remain open until Wednesday August 3rd at midnight. Also available is Event-Day Registration on Saturday August 6th, and Sunday August 7th.

The Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series consists of 7 events taking place at premier mountain bike venues all across Ontario.  These events have categories for all mountain bike ability levels.
