Plaque Unveiling for 2nd Annual Canadian Cycling Hall of Fame Induction

October 02, 2016 (Milton, ON) – The plaque unveiling for the 2nd annual Canadian Cycling Hall of Fame induction was held at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre on Saturday during the break in the racing sessions. The ceremony honoured the 2016 class of Hall of Fame inductees, which included Gord Fraser, Louise Lalonde, Marie-Hélène Prémont, Alex Stieda, Brian Walton and Canada’s 1908 Men’s Team Pursuit squad.

The four inductees in attendance Fraser, Lalonde, Stieda and Walton were all smiles as they unveiled their plaques and joined the inaugural class of inductees which included Steve Bauer, Tanya Dubnicoff, Curt Harnett, Marc Lemay, Jocelyn Lovell, Lori-Ann Muenzer, Torchy Peden, Gordon Singleton and Alison Sydor.

On Sunday the Lexus “Ride with Legends” presents a unique opportunity to join Hall of Fame members and Canadian National Team athletes for a fully-supported road ride through the beautiful Halton Hills region followed by a luncheon and the induction of the class of 2016.

The Canadian Cycling Hall of Fame, which has its permanent home at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, was inaugurated in 2015.
