Pinarello Launches New Dogma 65.1 Think 2

release by Uno Imports

June 29, 2012 (Treviso, Italy) – During one of the most victorious seasons in recent years for Pinarello sponsored pro-tour teams, the engineers at Pinarello have been steadily working to improve upon what many of their athletes claimed to be a fantastic frame. It was to be no easy task to improve upon the frame that has taken the champions of both Sky and Movistar to numerous victories, seen Wiggins pedal to yellow and move the world champion sprinter Mark Cavendish to claim “this frame is perfect” after his first ride aboard the Dogma 2.

To better a frame that had already been awarded such praise Pinarello’s engineers asked their partners Toray for collaboration in improving an industry leading 60HM1K carbon fiber. The Japan-based industrial colossus supplies the most important aerospace and automobile industries and is a world leader in terms of production output, technology and innovation in the field of special fibers.  The fruit of the combined efforts  is the completely new and exclusive 65Ton HM 1K carbon fiber that is stronger, more rigid and more resistant than any previous variety.

With this new material development Pinarello is able to produce a frame made of fiber with rigidity measured at 65 tons per square millimeter, effectively making a frame above the exacting expectations of the world’s greatest cyclists preform even better. This new frame will be more rigid, more reactive and even better prepared for the rigors of professional cycling. Using a highly resistant and reliable fiber such as Torayca 65HM1K Nanoalloy™ allows Pinarello to employ less material compared to traditional fibers, hence the final weight is lower, even as stability and safety are improved.

Additionally, with the increasing importance of electronic groupsets, the Pinarello Lab has worked diligently to produce a frame that is built for both mechanical or electronic transmissions. The new Dogma 65.1 Think 2 is designed for perfect integration  for electronic groups with internal cable routing designed specifically for their particular cable widths for both Campagnolo and Shimano systems. However, the same frame is also made to function perfectly with mechanical groupsets by changing only a few cablestops. Dedicated hardware make this frame perfect for any transmission the end user chooses, electronic or mechanic.

These new breakthroughs combine with previous technologies employed on the Dogma 2 such as; EPS construction methods that increase strength while reducing weight, asymmetric frame and fork design that balance general asymmetry during normal riding and provide more symmetric and linear power transfer for the cyclist, ONDA construction on both the fork and rear triangle offering a more comfortable ride for longer hours in the saddle and the integrated fork and downtube construction that offers a surprising aerodynamic benefit to the rider.

The Dogma 65.1 Think 2 is available in 12 sizes and completely customizable on our website via the MyWay™ program. The new Dogma 65.1 Think 2 will be on display for the first time to the public at the Granfondo LaPina which takes place in Treviso, Italy  on the 15th of July. Consumers can experience the Dogma 65.1 Think 2 first hand at the demo events of Eurobike in Germany , ExpoBici in Padova (Italy)  and the EICA trade show in Verona (Italy).
