Pendrel, Plaxton, McNeely, Vialle to Race MTB Worlds Relay for Canada

August 30, 2011 (Champéry, Switzerland) – Catharine Pendrel, Max Plaxton, Evan McNeely and Alexandre Vialle will represent Canada in the exciting team relay on Wednesday, as the 2011 UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships kick off in Champéry, Switzerland, for five days of thrilling mountain bike action.

Canada has always fielded a good team relay, winning the World titles in 2001, 2002 and 2004, as well as one silver medal in 2009 and bronze medal in 2003.

The team relay will be held at 5pm local time. Each team must register four riders, including a minimum of one woman, in the Junior, U23 and Elite categories.

The event is scheduled for the opening day of the World Championships, immediately after the women’s junior cross country race.
