Pedal Magazine\’s 2008 Canadian Cycling Awards – Svein Tuft

January 6, 2009 – Pedal caught up with Langley, B.C.’s Svein Tuft, 31, who was voted Best Overall Cyclist, Best Overall Senior/U23 Male Cyclist, and Best Road Senior/U23 Cyclist (Male or Female) by Canadians in the 2008 Pedal Awards. Tuft was the clear winner in all three categories after he won the 2008 ITT Worlds silver medal this past season. Here’s what Tuft had to say about his winning season.

Yeah, this year was pretty amazing, every thing came together really well and it still surprises me when I think about it. I have to say that I would never have gotten this far if it were not for my team mates. Symmetrics helped me to grow into the rider that I am and I have to thank everyone of those guys. Especially for this year, it was a good run and I think we showed that Canadians can compete at the upper levels in cycling. That is what I’m most proud of. Thanks.
