Ontario Track Championships 2005 Wrap Up

June 21, 2005 – What a weekend of racing. Racers came from Alberta, Nebraska, Detroit, Rochester N.Y. & across Ontario. A total of 43 participants took to the boards on the weekend, the most competitors to take part in an Ontario Championship in many years. With all the volunteers in place the events
went off on-time with only one delay on Saturday afternoon when the Sprint competition went a little longer than expected and we had to start the Pursuits 45 minutes late. The last race of the night saw seven Madison Teams contest the 30-minute event on the 138m track with Richard Bell (junior) and Adam Thuss dominate the race.

Good luck to all the Ontario Cyclists headed to Track Nationals beginning June 30.

The Forest City Velodrome would like to thank all the Racers, Volunteers, Commissars, City of London, Travelodge and of course the 450 spectators who came out to see the racing on Friday & Saturday. The 50/50 draws added over $350 to the Youth Programs at the Velodrome.

The racing was fast and furious with the Men’s Scratch Race, Points Race, and Sprint Final having the infield and every spectator standing & cheering as the competitors attacked each other over and over during the entire competition.

Full results will be posted soon as we are preparing the Trillium Grant for the end of the month.

There is no racing for the next 2 weeks as the volunteers need a much deserved early summer break. Racing will resume on July 9th at 7pm.

Please check our website www.ForestCityVelodrome.ca for updated ride schedule for the rest of the summer.
