Ontario Cup 4X #1

June 6, 2005 – Well our first 4X ever in Ontario was a blast, the course was in great shape thanks to Joe Chappell and his crew.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t cooperating down near the GTA (light showers the morning of the race) and resulted in many people deciding not to make the journey for fear of a rained out race.

Funny thing was Port Elgin was grey in the morning but never rained and the sun came out by noon. Around 50 racers came out with sharpened elbows, many took in the Kona 4X clinic hosted by Matt Stevens. They worked on gate starts, some inside-outside corner moves and first straight power strokes.

All in all it was a successful day for 4X racing in Ontario and I know that the numbers will be high for the next race in Milton.

Elite men finished as follows in the Main Event:
– Drew Pautler 1st
– Ondrej Neumann 2nd
– Terry Lemonis 3rd
