Olympian Tanya Dubnicoff to Coach Women’s Team Pursuit Squad

February 10, 2011 (Ottawa, ON) – Retired Canadian Cycling Team member Tanya Dubnicoff of Winnipeg, Manitoba, is taking a new role in Canadian track cycling, lending her wealth of knowledge to coach the Women’s Team Pursuit team squad. Dubnicoff, a three-time Olympian (1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney) who won four gold medals at Pan American Games, will take the coaching leadership of Canada’s Women Team Pursuit program alongside Head Coach Richard Wooles.

Dubnicoff is a registered Level IV coach in cycling. She was inducted in the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.

The Women’s Team Pursuit is a discipline where Canada is a strong contender for a medal at the 2012 OIympic Games in London, GBR, when the discipline will be disputed for the first time at Olympic Games. The team has been training together in Carson, California, at the site of the only covered 250m velodrome in North America.
