OCA Youth Recruitment Program a Success!

May 24, 2005 (North York, ON) — The Ontario Cycling Association (OCA) is proud to announce the success of the Youth recruitment program. This program was made possible through a joint effort of the Ontario and Canadian governments.

A total of 225 youth members experienced a 25% discount off their membership fees in 2005. Over 20% of these were new members to the OCA!

Additionally, through the Club Rewards program, several OCA affiliated clubs reaped rewards by recruiting new youth members into the organization. Several clubs partaking in this program signed up a total of 80 new youth members. Clubs the OCA would like to recognize as doing the best job in this area include

– Ottawa Bicycle Club
– St. Catherines Cycling Club
– Timmins Cycling Club
– Milton BMX
– Bikefit Sunflower Cycling Club
– Port Elgin BMX

These clubs will all receive at least five new T-Bone helmets from Louis Garneau and a reimbursement of their 2004 club affiliation fees.

The OCA would like to continue with these programs in the future, and challenges the other clubs across the province to embrace the program.
