February 10, 2015 (Milton, ON) – Over 110 riders have registered for the first event, organizer Greg Rawson (OCA) indicated that “The response to our first race is overwhelming, many hours of planning have gone into the format of the races to give Sprinters and Endurance athletes the opportunity to reach the top step of the podium. The infield will be packed with racers.  The event is a 2-day affair, that begins on Friday (Feb. 13) evening at 6pm and continues Saturday (Feb. 14) at 3pm, is open and FREE to the public with general seating available. “If you have never seen a bicycle race or track event, come out and be prepared to make a lot of noise”. Rawson went on about” the riders racing harder when there is a lot cheering.  Cow bells, horns and other noise making devices will keep all the riders on their toe”s.

The 250m Velodrome in Milton has been a beehive of activity since it opened in early January.  Rawson went on to say that “with the smoothness of the racing surface the racing will be fast and Furious”

“The Athletes competing this weekend will range in age from 15 (Junior Category) to 60 in our Masters group.  Many of the best Ontario Junior & Elite racers will be locking handlebars with our visitors from La Belle Province” Rawson said with sparkle in his eye, “this event could be a preview of the National Chamnpionships which will be held at the end of the summer here in Milton”.
