NORBA XC #4 – XC Women’s Report

July 8, 2006 (Deer Valley, UT) — Canada’s Alison Sydor (CAN, Rocky Mountain-Business Objects), Wendy Simms (CAN, Velo Bella-Kona) and Christine Misseghers (Can) Mountain Bike City were on the start line at the NORBA XC #4 in Deer Valley, Utah today.

The Canadians seemed to have a hard time in the thin air, since the 11.4-kilometre loop reached altitudes of over 2000 metres. Racers completed three laps of the course, with Shonny Vanlandingham (USA, Luna Women’s Team), Heather Irmiger (USA, Subaru-Gary Fisher) and Jenna Zander (USA, Bear Naked-Cannondale) taking the top three spots.

Simms pulled into 12th spot, Misseghers placed 38th, while Sydor, who suffered a mechanical, was farther back and did not finish.
