NORBA XC #4 – XC Men\’s Report

July 8, 2006 (Deer Valley, UT) – With just a week to go before the Canadian National Championships, several Canucks are racing south of the border today at the fourth NORBA XC of the season in sunny Deer Valley, Utah.

In the men’s race, defending Canadian National Champion Geoff Kabush (CAN, Maxxis) took second spot behind the U.S.’s current top gun, Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski (USA, Subaru-Gary Fisher). Kabush got the better of Jeremiah Bishop (USA, Trek-VW) in a sprint for second after four laps of the rolling, dusty 11.4-kilometre course, which included 705 vertical metres of climbing each time around and reached a maximum altitude of over 2000 metres.

Canada’s Max Plaxton (CAN, Rocky Mountain-Business Objects) and Ricky Federau (CAN, Team R.A.C.E.) also cracked the top 10 with sixth and seventh-place rides respectively.
