Nigel Ellsay Wins Time Trial at UCI Junior Ronde des Vallees

by pedalmag.com
August 16, 2012 (Hemonstoir, France) – Canadian junior road racer Nigel Ellsay recently celebrated his first big international win in the 13km time trial at the junior UCI race, the Ronde des Vallees in France. Read Ellsay’s brief report below.

After a solid first two thirds of a season I have managed to win my first big Junior UCI race – Ronde des Vallees

The Time Trial for the Rondes des Vallées was along a beautiful 13km course feature rolling terrain. I got out with a good start and held on to win the race by 10 seconds over the Junior Cycle-cross World Champ, Mathieu Van der Poel.

This win though would not have been possible without the help of so many people back home, Coaches, Family, Sponsors, Cycling BC and Cycling Canada that help us all develop. Thanks guys, and I am really looking forward to Junior Worlds, in around 4 weeks time.

– Nigel
