release by Niagara Classic

May 08, 2015 (St-Catharines, ON) – The Ontario Cycling Association has designated the Niagara Classic as an Ontario-Cup (O-Cup) event on the spring calendar. Now in its thirtieth year, this challenging circuit has become one of the great road racing traditions here in Ontario. Effingham Hill, also known as Saylor’s Hill is the highlight and the most difficult obstacle on the twelve kilometre race course, with its maximum grade of 14%. The hill never disappoints and will make for tough racing for those who wish to attack and challenge their adversaries.

Lake to Lake Events has taken over the reigns of this prestigious event, with Canadian cycling legend Steve Bauer on board to see that the day goes smoothly. For the competitors, a victory at the Classic does not go unnoticed, and with the event one week before the Grey County Road Races, one could not ask for a better event to help prepare.

The racing kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning and continues until 4 pm on the beautiful country roads of Pelham, Ontario.  Bissell’s Hideaway is the host of the start/finish area, where an exciting bike expo will be set up alongside the registration for all those competing.

Come out to race, watch or help with the Niagara Classic, a road cycling icon that continues to help inspire, challenge and test the very best bicycle racers in the province.
