New Fall High School Race Series

August 27, 2005 – A new Fall Race series for High School and Elementary aged riders, focused on Fun and Participation. Come experience riding and racing on some of Ontario’s best trails. Bring a team of riders from your school to learn more skills, challenge yourselves, and prepare your team for the spring riding season.

Dates:
Fridays – Sept 23, Sept 30, Oct 7, Oct 14
-All Races at 2:00 pm
-You can enter one race or the entire series.
Awards:
-Medals to the Top 3 in each category per week.
-Overall awards for Top 3 racers completing all 4 races.

Draw Prizes:
-All pre-registered riders will be eligible for draw prizes.
Eligibility:
-All participants in the Championships must be currently enrolled full time in an Ontario elementary or secondary school. It is recommended that a coach or parent attend.
-Elementary riders min. age 10 yrs.
Number Plate Pick Up:
-Check in and plate pick up must be done no later than 15 mins. before each event. One person per school may check in and pick up their whole team’s number plate/registration kit, or it may be done individually.

Entry will close 15 minutes before Race Start.
Pre-registered riders may pick up their number plate 15 min. before the start of their race.

Course
-Courses will combine our wider ski trails and less technical single track trails. All racers will do one lap of the same course, except for Senior Boys doing 2 laps.

-Hardwood Hills Mountain Bike Center
Exit Forbes Road from Hwy 400 North. proceed for 10 km east on Forbes Road. Map available here .

Important Note:
-All races sanctioned by the OCA require some form of membership or permit to race. Licensed racers, or Citizen Permit members are eligible to participate in any citizen event.
-Non-OCA members must purchase a Full Citizen Permit or $5.00 One-Day Permit, in addition to their entry fee. The One-Day permit is limited to three per season, or a rider may purchase a Citizen permit for the entire season.

Age Categories:
SENIOR: the individual’s birth certificate indicates that he/she has not reached his/her 20th birthday by August 31st prior to the start of the school year in which the competition is held.

JUNIOR: the individual’s birth certificate indicates that he/she has not reached his/her 17th birthday by August 31st prior to the start of the school year in which the competition is held.

MIDGET: the individual’s birth certificate indicates that he/she has not reached his/her 15th birthday by August 31st prior to the start of the school year in which the competition is held.

Elementary: minimum age 10 yrs.
