New Cycling Race Team Launches in Niagara

release by Reactivated Racing

April 8, 2011 (St. Catharines, ON) – Former elite cyclist and long-time Niagara coach, Jenny Brown has formed a new cycling team focused on supporting and building performance for racing. Called Reactivated Racing, the team includes a diversity of bike racers who will compete in a variety of races from cross country to downhill to road time trials at the provincial, national and world level.

“Reactivated Racing is all about passion for competitive cycling, embracing our local elite racers and reducing elitism” said Brown, who has been supporting cycling and racers for more than ten years and wants to showcase the talent. We have racers that have made “ultimate comebacks” in sport. This is inspiring and fuels the great attitude on the team for performance, no matter what the circumstances.

Brown has enlisted elite racers such as world cup 4cross racer, Matt Zdriluk of Beamsville and Provincial Bronze Masters Time Trialist, Anna Tykoliz of Port Colborne to act as mentors for younger racers. Olympic Bronze Medallist, Melanie Kok of St. Catharines will also be part of the team as a Racing Ambassador.

Support from silver sponsor Art’s Tools of St. Catharines has been invaluable in establishing the team. Bronze sponsors include Welland-based Thorntons Bike shop and Welland Honda have with Norco Bikes contributing with equipment to aid in perfomance.
