NCCP Coaching Subsidy

July 15, 2006 – In partnership, the Canadian Sport Centre Ontario, the National Coaching Institute and the Coaches Association of Ontario, are pleased to announce a new NCCP course subsidy that will directly benefit coaches wishing to continue their education and certification in all parts of the province. Ontario is putting its best efforts forward to prepare coaches for the upcoming Canada Games and increasing the number of eligible coaches for National team opportunities. Thanks to funding from the Quest for Gold Lottery, which was established by the Ministry of Health Promotion and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation the Canadian Sport Centre Ontario is able to offer three coaching subsidies.

Level 3 Theory
Coaches wishing to complete their multi sport Level 3 Theory are eligible to have course fees offset provided completion is prior to December 31st, 2006. Eight Level 3 Theory courses have been set up across Ontario to provide access to as many coaches as possible. All coaches must register for these courses online no later than two weeks prior to the course date.

Level 3 Technical
For coaches who would like to complete a Level 3 Technical clinic (your sport must be offering one prior to December 31st, 2006), please contact Brenda Leatherland at brenda@cscontario.ca or (416) 426-7254 for information regarding a sport-specific Technical subsidy.

Level 4 & 5
Coaches who are fully certified Level 3 and wish to enroll in the Level 4/5 program, are eligible to receive a $1500 subsidy towards tuition costs. Visit http://www.cscontario.ca/web_page/nci_ontario_b.php to learn more about the NCI program.

Thanks to funding from the Quest for Gold Lottery, which was established by the Ministry of Health Promotion and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, coaches who are fully certified level 4 or 5 and wish to pursue a project that will improve their coaching skills, are eligible to receive a $3000 Professional Development subsidy.

All coaches must complete and return the Professional Development Bursary Application with a detailed outline of the project. The application form can be downloaded at: http://www.coachesontario.ca/component/option,com_docman/task,cat_view/gid,104/Itemid,88/.

All coaches must enroll in the NCI program as well as complete and return a NCI Tuition Bursary Application prior to August 17 2006, for courses commencing September 2006. NCI Tuition Bursary Applications can be downloaded from:
