National Team For Manchester World Cup

January 6, 2005 – Canada will be represented by two riders at the third leg of the UCI World Cup in Manchester, set to begin on Friday and go until Sunday. Gina Grain and Matthew Chater will be representing Canada at this event.

Grain, from Victoria, BC, will be competing in the Points race and the
Scratch race in Manchester. Last month at the World Cup event in Los
Angeles, Gina placed an impressive 6th place in the Scratch Race and
finished 16th in the Points race, in what was her first foray into
international track competition.

Chater, from Vancouver, BC, will compete in the Sprint and the Keirin event. Matthew competed in Los Angeles in the same two events as well. He will be looking to gather more experience and improve upon his own personal best times.

National Team Head Coach, Eric Van den Eynde is in attendance with both
athletes.
