May 23, 2005 (Bromont, Que.) – Despite rain overnight, the new Bromont downhill course was a hit with racers yesterday. Fion Griffiths (GBR, Norco) crossed the Atlantic for the race and upset Danika Schroeter’s (BC, Giant) winning streak. Griffiths stopped the clock with a time of 5:46.7. Schroeter was not far behind, sneaking into second place with 5:50.2.3. Adrienne Miller (Mountain City Cycle) finished third in a time of 5:56.5.

Luke Kitzanuk (QC) won the men’s race by just under one second. He swept down the course in 4:40.12. Tyler Morland (BC) was right on his tail, finishing his run in 4:41.0. Jamie Biluk was nine seconds down from Kitzanuk’s winning time.
