August 5, 2005 – The Plastiglas Ontario Cup #5 will kick off this Sunday, August 7 at Buckwallow Cycling Center just north of Gravenhurst off of Hwy #11. This is the second annual event at Buckwallow and this cottage country riding destination is a highlight on the provincial circuit.
The Buckwallow course is more technical than your average Southern Ontario course, however with little climbing, it’s also very fast. The single-track is tight, twisty, with a few challenging rocky sections to keep things interesting. Sunday’s cross-country events will test racers over distances ranging from 7 – 47 km. The experts and elites will be racing from 1 pm until 3 pm with the amateur events beginning at 9 am.
The Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series consists of 7 events taking place at premier mountain bike venues all across Ontario. These events have categories for all mountain bike ability levels and registration is available on the day of the event.Schedule of Events:
