November 24, 2014 (Montreal, QC) – Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre today announced that the sometimes controversial Bixi bike share program will continue through at least 2019 reports CBC. “Bixi Montreal reports show the goods they delivered are up to our expectations,” said Coderre at a press conference.

As reported earlier, Coderre has asked Montrealers to “show their love for Bixi,” but usage numbers have nonetheless been down versus 2013. The non-profit board that oversees Bixi Montreal was asking the municipality for $2.9 million per year to operate the popular bike share program.
