Milton Velodrome Takes Shape as Roof Skeleton Completed – Current Photos

by pedalmag.com

January 13, 2014 (Milton, ON) – Check out these recent photos of the Milton Velodrome courtesy of Grant Downey where construction is well underway and the velodrome is starting to take shape as Downey writes…”Was in Acton yesterday on business, so decided to drive by the Milton Velodrome. The roof skeleton is complete, & you can see the stands taking shape.

Note also the Christmas Tree on the roof for that seasonal flare. Not sure if they’re deviating from the original architectural design (specifically the front entrance), but time will tell. The floor seems small, but when you compare against a bulldozer or Bobcat, you get a sense of how BIG this mother will be.”

The new 154,000-square-foot facility with 250m indoor velodrome is scheduled to open in September, 2014 and host two events that month, the 2014 International Track Challenge and the 2014 Canadian Track Championships. The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Milton Velodrome on Friday, June 7 – read more here.
