September 23, 2007 – Darko Ficko is fast hitting 19.11 to better Mirek Mazur’s record of 19.40 – that’s 48km/hr – at today’s Mazurcoaching.com Time Trial Challenge presented by the Ontario Masters Cycling Association on White Swan Rd. in Hamilton.

Can Mazur reclaim the title from Ficko in 2008 or will junior Mike Hruska at 20.49 be the man? Cadet Matthew Gallo had a tough ride at 21.55 to win – how fast will he be next year on a good day? Masters 50 plus winner Jim Hutcheson was in a class by himself at 21.00 flat.

For the women it was Merrill Collins – who else – in 21.03 with Heather Davidson-Meyn and Ann Guzman close behind at 22 and charging fast and getting faster. If next year is as good a day condition-wise who knows, can the Queen be unseated?

It was a super and successful event with special thanks to all the volunteers. Proceeds to the Princess Margaret Hospital – “The Ride To Conquer Cancer” (Donations are welcome).
