Mattamy National Cycling Centre Launches Official Website

release by The Town of Milton

August 12, 2014 (Milton, ON) – Cycling enthusiasts in Milton and beyond are one step closer to experiencing the Mattamy National Cycling Centre now that the facility’s new website is up and running.

The website serves as an online hub for the velodrome, which is the only one of its kind in Canada and only the second in North America that meets top international standards. It will serve as both a community recreation facility and a venue for provincial, national and international events, most notably the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games*

“The website will give people a better sense of the many great programs and services the velodrome will offer once construction is complete,” said Mayor Gord Krantz. “Whether you’re an experienced or beginner cyclist or you just want to take advantage of the meeting rooms, Fitness Centre or walking and jogging track, the facility is sure to be a popular destination for residents and visitors for years to come.”

Visitors to the website can access a wide range of information about the velodrome and its features, including:

– Learn to Ride programs and “Try it” sessions designed to give cyclists a taste of the track
– Cycling memberships and multi-week cycling programs
– Fitness centre and walking/jogging track memberships
– Drop-in sport opportunities available on the gymnasium courts
–  “In the Loop” e-newsletter featuring updates on construction progress and program offerings
– Live webcam of exterior construction progress

Cycling programs at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre begin this fall and an open house for the public is scheduled for November 1. For details, visit here.

*During the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games, the facility will be known as the Cisco Milton Pan Am/Parapan Am Velodrome.
