MASI-ADOBE Fights MS with the RITA BEES, August 12

The Rita Bee’s are gearing up for another successful showing at the upcoming MS Ride in Vancouver on August 12.

Already the swarm of Bees has grown from 8 riders last year to 43 and counting this year! With last years group raising over $7,500 the team hopes to break the $10,000 mark this year. Amongst the 43 will be the full roster of the MASI-ADOBE cycling team, one of BC’s top road racing teams, whose members come from BC, Ontario and Newfoundland.

The Rita Bee’s are named after the mother of Paul Blanchette, director and founder of the MASI-ADOBE Road Cycling Team (www.steamerracing.ca). Like many people, Paul has been touched by MS and he has made an effort to do something about it.

Paul and the rest of MASI-ADOBE would like to challenge all of you to join the cause!

Fort Langley Cyclocross Race and MS Society Fundraiser, September 9

For the fourth year in a row, the MASI-ADOBE race team is hosting the Fort Langley Cyclocross Classic (BC Cross Cup #1) to be held on Sunday September 9th. This year’s event will once again be a fundraising effort with the net proceeds going to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Participation in cyclocross racing has been steadily increasing over the last few years and this year we hope to top the 100 participants that took part last year. This year’s Cross Cup series will surely be a hotly contested title amongst the top racers in BC as it was last year. This event is sanctioned by Cycling BC and is on the 2007 road racing calendar.

Anyone wishing to support this race with product sponsorship which will be used to supplement the cash prizes for each of the race categories should contact Base Clement, Race Organizer, at bclement@telus.net or 604-435-4271.
