October 15, 2014 (Gatineau, QC) – Frédérick Gates is pleased to announce the creation of a new national men’s road cycling team and a partnership with Marin Bikes California.
The founder and manager of the team, Frédérick Gates, is in the process of completing the application for a 2015 Cycling Canada licence. Based in Gatineau, the team will be comprised of 8 to 10 athletes aiming to participate and excel in interprovincial, national and international races.
The team has already signed experienced cyclists such as Jean-Sébastien Perron and Robert Ralph along with Shawn Clarke and Anthony Barrette who have also joined the group. The athletes will race on Quebec, Ontario and UCI-level circuits.
The new cycling project was born out Frédérick Gates’ lifelong passion for cycling sports and his desire to help talented cyclists reach an elite competition level in a structured, healthy and positive environment. This project also intends to promote the sport of cycling, which has become increasingly popular over the last years.
Marin Bikes California, a major mountain and road bike manufacturer, has proudly partnered with Frédérick Gates’ team not only because of his contagious passion and exciting project, but mostly for his work ethic.

More partnerships will be disclosed shortly. The team’s official composition and name will be announced during a launch event in early 2015.

Frédérick Gates is an Outaouais-based athlete that has excelled in karate at the national and international levels. He has also competed in cycling races all throughout his youth and over the past 5 years. Passionate and competitive, he decided to take advantage of his experience in professional management and high performance sports to build his cycling project team.
